THROUGH THE WEEK

WEDNESDSAY 13th DECEMBER 2023

 Feast of St Lucy

Prayer to St. Lucy

Whose beautiful name signifies ‘Light’, by the light of faith which God bestowed upon you increase and preserve His light in my soul so that I may avoid evil, be zealous in the performance of good works and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and sin. Obtain for me, by your intercession with God perfect vision for my bodily eyes and the grace to use them for God’s greater honour and glory and the salvation of souls. St. Lucy, virgin and martyr, hear my prayers and obtain my petitions.    Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE
Loving God, we pray for the people of Ukraine,  for all those suffering or afraid, that you will be close to them and protect them. We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices. We pray for the world, that in this moment of crisis, we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need. May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice become a reality for the people of Ukraine and for all the world.    Amen.
Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!
Our Lady of Kyiv, pray for us!
