THROUGH THE WEEK

Wednesday 24th June 2026
Feast of the Birth of St John the Baptist
Saint John the Baptist, you who leapt with joy in your mother’s womb at the presence of the Lord — intercede for me today. You spent your life preparing the way. You pointed always away from yourself and toward the One who was to come. Teach me to do the same. Where I have made myself the centre, help me to decrease. Where I have been silent out of fear, give me your courage. Where I am still waiting for God to act, give me your patience and your trust. I bring before you this intention: [mention your intention here]  Saint John the Baptist, pray for me. Prepare in me a straight path for the Lord to walk. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
God of Comfort,  send your Spirit to encompass all those whose lives are torn apart by violence and death in the Middle East. You are the Advocate of the oppressed and the One whose eye is on the sparrow.  Let arms reach out in healing, rather than aggression. Let hearts mourn rather than militarize.   **************************************************************************                    PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE
Loving God, we pray for the people of Ukraine,  for all those suffering or afraid, that you will be close to them and protect them. We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices. We pray for the world, that in this moment of crisis, we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need. May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice become a reality for the people of Ukraine and for all the world.    Amen.     Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!      Our Lady of Kyiv, pray for us!
 *************************************************
PRAYER FOR THE BEREAVED                                                        Lord, comfort all who mourn, and strengthen them in the Hope of the Resurrection, where there will be no more sickness or mourning, but eternal peace and happiness in your Presence
