THROUGH THE WEEK

Monday 6th July 2026
Feast of St Maria Goretti
Prayer to St. Maria Goretti
Oh Saint Maria Goretti who, strengthened by God’s Grace, did not hesitate even at the age of twelve to shed your blood and sacrifice life itself to defend your virginal purity, look graciously on the unhappy human race which has strayed far from the path of eternal salvation.                                   Teach us all, and especially youth, with what courage and promptitude we should flee for the love of Jesus anything that could offend Him or stain our souls with sin.   Obtain for us from our Lord victory in temptation, comfort in the sorrows of life, and the grace which we earnestly beg of thee (pause, insert special intention here), and may we one day enjoy with thee the imperishable glory of Heaven. Amen.
Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory be … St. Maria Goretti, pray for us!

PRAYER FOR PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
God of Comfort,  send your Spirit to encompass all those whose lives are torn apart by violence and death in the Middle East. You are the Advocate of the oppressed and the One whose eye is on the sparrow.  Let arms reach out in healing, rather than aggression. Let hearts mourn rather than militarize.   **************************************************************************                    PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE
Loving God, we pray for the people of Ukraine,  for all those suffering or afraid, that you will be close to them and protect them. We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices. We pray for the world, that in this moment of crisis, we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need. May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice become a reality for the people of Ukraine and for all the world.    Amen.     Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!      Our Lady of Kyiv, pray for us!

PRAYER FOR THE BEREAVED                                                        Lord, comfort all who mourn, and strengthen them in the Hope of the Resurrection, where there will be no more sickness or mourning, but eternal peace and happiness in your Presence
